The Wireless Revolution is the band’s most immediate and concise set of recorded songs, showcasing their love of chiming, jangly guitars and tight, layered vocal harmonies. It follows the band’s longest break between albums, enforced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These songs were written and
recorded during the band’s return to gigging in 2022 and capture the renewed enthusiasm and sheer joy of being able to make music together again. Following remote recording outside projects during the last 2 years -The Harmonizers and The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness – it was a delight
and emotional time for Andrew Taylor to play and record with Dropkick bandmates, Ian and Alan, in the same room again. Lyrically, these songs touch upon the passing of time– relationships, getting older, technology and the changing, post-covid world we live in. The Wireless Revolution features the first writing contribution from Alan Shields (‘The Other Side’) plus his lead vocals on two tracks (‘The Other Side’ and ‘No Difference’).

The album was mainly recorded in Dropkick’s HQ and rehearsal space in Inch House, Edinburgh, which has been their base for over a decade.
